Have you read the thesis? Fully? Realize that he's not "turning it into a weapon" he in fact just clarified its true nature outside the confines a cryptocurrency finance viewpoint.
It becomes evident that hashpower is a 2nd amendment issue. And ask yourself this, would you rather that the folks in the US holding 393m firearms to prevent the spread of tyranny also possessed and ran hashpower, or that they continued to be blind to it, and lost the war to defend sound money without firing a shot? There is a massive support structure out there to defend 2nd amendment issues and it is important that that cohort gets eyes on this issue to being establishing a robust defense. They are still dangerously centered on goldbuggery.
