Any advice on training through an injury? Hurt my collarbone during BJJ in mid November, debating on heading back to training while slightly hurt or doing something different (like weights). Or something totally different? #asknostr #bjj

Not a doctor but as a basic idea, any risk of losing mobility adds priority to training ASAP, any risk of repeating the injury adds priority to waiting for more healing. The balance is somewhere in the middle based on how big each risk is for your injury

I appreciate the thoughts nostr:npub1wamvxt2tr50ghu4fdw47ksadnt0p277nv0vfhplmv0n0z3243zyq26u3l2 ๐Ÿ”ฅโค๏ธ

Get well soon ๐Ÿค™

sure

Weights are probably the way to go, or something else active that doesn't have the risk of reinjuring, maybe yoga. I hurt something in my ribs and was thinking about just doing beginner classes with no rolling, but sometimes we do heavy pressure pin control, so probably just gonna chill for awhile

Iโ€™m taking it class by class at this point. If I wake up and my body feels good then I train. If not then I donโ€™t.

I love the sport but Iโ€™ve been disappointed with the amount of injuries Iโ€™ve sustained in a short amount of time.

The best antidote for me has been to be thankful for each class I get the opportunity to go to even if itโ€™s just one class.

Its okay to come back slowly, maybe just drilling positions and engaging more mentally than physically. I would be mindful with sparring. Good luck ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿป
