This needs to be motte widely known.

Man is only meant to rule over his own family, not each other.

Perform a role, but rule?

Rule. As a priest king. An educator. I passer-onner. Of truth. Occasionally a disciplinarian, but more of a guiding hand than a closed fist to his own.

Hmmm. My family is a collaboration.

You seem to have some kind of weird notion about what a good king is and does.

A king doesn't do much on his own except make final decisions based on his convictions.

I'm not talking about a violent, tight-fisted control freak. I mean a God-fearing, righteous man who loves his family deeply and desires to see them succeed in ways that he never could, bestowing on them a foundation of truth, skills, and strength to overcome the crappines of the world. To be a peacemaker. To be joyous in the growth of his family. To give his all for them without reservation.

I think God fearing helps me understand why Dad and King are roughly synonymous for you. My family is raised and happy, I’m no king and never was. Just a doting Dad. ☺️
