Favorite self custody setup for each usecase I’ve encountered:

Small stack, small budget uncle Jim: Nunchuk collaborative multisig, give the noobs tapsigners and you hold a coldcard

Large stack, large budget, but low tech knowledge uncle Jim: Casa 3 of 5 paid multisig

Small stack, small budget fully self custody: Jade with blockstream green

Medium stack, medium budget fully self custody but low technical knowledge: Nunchuk 2 of 3 paid multisig with two hardware wallets from different vendors

Large stack, low to medium budget and high technical knowledge: Liana with TBD count hardware wallets from different vendors

Any size stack, small budget, but high technical knowledge: DIY on sparrow with whatever hardware wallets you can afford

All of these are no KYC (why Unchained is not included. Sign up with a protonmail email address. When ordering hardware wallets and seed backups - don’t order with your real name or actual home address(try PO Box, work, or a consenting acquaintance’s address), and pay with Privacy.com, Bitcoin, or gift cards.

Have you used Liana or Casa? I'm looking into both. I have a decent tech knowledge but can't say the same for my descendants. I'd like an inheritance setup that's fairly user-friendly (at least better than the encrypted text file I have now).

Have tried and really like both. If you or anyone who might inherit are not tech savvy I would go with Casa. I love Liana but it’s definitely more on the bleeding edge and requires strong knowledge(probably running a full node and DIY sparrow multisig as a roughly comparable level of difficulty. Though Liana does have excellent support and a support package designed to help your family if you pass. So either ultimately can work.

Thanks, that's helpful.
