I think it’s possible that population collapse will be a beneficial thing for the global system in general. The awareness of procreation appropriateness is a hallmark of our species alone, without it we are literally a bacterial infection on the face of the earth, controlled by the death of the host, predation, and ultimately resource scarcity. Yep, fewer people would be good.
