Opinions on buildbot vs jenkins vs something else?

No, can't use GitHub Actions or any other SaaS non-selfhostable solution with vendor lock-in.

They are all nearly the same. Use what ever you know best

Don't know about the others but we used jenkins at my big tech job and though I was just a consumer of it, it never gave me any problems. No idea how much work went into the setup. Good luck!

Currently using jenkins. It's a PITA to configure tbh.
