Would you be ok with a run on a few major banks?
I sometimes believe that a bank run is on of the only ways citizens will change their relationship with money and the institutions they allow to custody it.

It depends. A lot of people depend on these too big to fail banks. Thus if they go down many people will not have access to money. While I hate banking as it is today the idea of a solvent bank is definitely accepted.
