I'm already in the senior-citizen programmer section, there's a big bulge behind me, and then nothing. People who aren't coding in their late teens and early twenties usually don't switch later.
Secure uC world is worse. Almost everyone in there has been there since the industry started.

Our test department is also mostly over-40s. Testing scene is a Big Drought.

yeah man... it's a job i could turn my hand to. i learned m68k assembler in my teens, my first was BASIC and the reason i like Go is because it's like those old systems, and like we'll see when there is benchmarks, there won't be a faster nostr relay than mine.
