In general when I see a system that makes no to me it’s either because it’s working in an area I don’t know much about or because it really is just non-sense.

What I see on the 21e8.nz site is word soup to me. What I see in this podcast transcript, is something about distributed / decentralized computation…. A field I do understand….

Perhaps Mark can join TBL and they can go trying to slay the universal data dragons together. Maybe I’m totally wrong, and there is something there, but damn it’s not well explained.

😂 Hadn't seen 21e8 website. Gobbledygeek. AI rewrite can fancify.

afaik they prepend hashes to find things faster. Filetype--hash or something.

Hash addressing just makes sense, no switcheroo, no trust, all verification, always on.

Memory near processor, near human.

Sorting, ranking, ordering things all sound good for meaning-making.

^ TBH I know little of 21e8, but like these aims.

Hash-address abundant-storage close-to-home, like SSB.

Redownloading redownloaded downloads is weak user experience.

Weak user experience weakens chance to widely distribute NOSTR goods:

1 own-identity

2 free-speech

3 alt-currency

is there a noob client w self-serving relay?

We’re considering an embedded relay for nos.social so it supports fully peer to peer / offline first. But it’s not our highest priority.

super hard prob? can be chunked? a) offline first b) p2p

a) mvp doable on replit+ai? (not nos.social version but simple mvp trial)

start here? https://github.com/mikedilger/gossip ?
