The real problem is not the left or right.

The real problem is what exactly are the incentives at any given polity. i.e what should be the incentives of the police, courts, all the individuals working in the state/system, etc, etc, etc.

This is why the Swiss model makes the world a better place, because using the referendums (16 referendums every 3 months) at the municipal, regional and national levels, the people can define EXACTLY what are the incentives, very specifically, for any given problem or situation.
