Not too technical here but is pub key rotation something that’s possible down the line so people could possibly do this without nuking their accounts?

see the proposal: https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nips/pull/158 there has been lots of discussion in other pull requests and issues. seems to be quite the contentious issue :P

The proposal is very cool for security, but not for vanity. One of the additional comments to the NIP is:

“This is not a general "rotation" scheme for keys”

It’s for security, but it won’t let you switch out keys whenever you want.

I honestly don’t know. But besides vanity what would be the use? I don’t think there would be a security advantage.

Yeah just vanity i imagine. Like back in the day when cell phones were new, everyone wanted a cool number, but now it doesn’t matter as no one memorizes them like they used to.
