Apple’s announced the most minimal and dysfunctional way of allowing third party payments for digital content in the appstore in order to comply with the results of the Epic lawsuit.

It’s basically never going to be used and is useless, both for crypto but also any other kinds of payments, but let’s Apple say “we allow third party payments”.

so terrible

As companies age, each subsequent leader tries at least to some degree to imitate the previous leader. And so they become imitations of imitations of imitations, far from what they originally were.

We don't need locked ecosystems that happen to have nice UI/UX specs, where they can charge hundreds of dollars for a custom non-interoperable cable! We need open UI/UX specs and interoperability specs that multiple companies compete to achieve.

Have you really believed forcing a company to do something they don’t want to do works out well?
