I asked my son (7) today how it makes him feel when he loses in a game with his friends. He said it makes him feel happy and sad. I asked him what about about losing makes him sad, and he said, “Because I want to win.” I asked him what makes him feel happy when he loses, and he said, “Because I get to see my friends win.” I’m not sure exactly how we taught him that mindset, but I was so proud of his answer.

Sometimes, we parents forget how much our children register in their memory the way we speak, behave or react. As they grow up, in their little world, we are their majority. Well done for both of you 💜🫂
