After ~7 years of near-constant traveling—usually in hostels packed with backpackers from all over the world—I'm here to share some free signal on the best and worst Europeans:

THE BEST: Germans. Hilarious, fun-loving, adventurous, all-around awesome people. I've met more of them than probably any other nationality abroad (travel is huge in their culture) and I cannot recall a single one that left a truly negative impression.

THE WORST: The French. I've tried for years to break through this stereotype because I hate holding negative feelings toward a generalized group, but they just keep on proving it true. Their entire lives revolve around sitting on their ass smoking cigarettes amongst themselves. No ambition, boring, just complete NPCs that don't give a fuck about anything.

NOTE: Funny enough, the very rare exceptions to the broad French suck are some of the coolest people of all, because they know their people are the worst, and they put in a lot effort to overcompensate in the other direction.
