Guys… you think mining fud is bad? Wait till the midwits home in on nostr phone battery usage and all the charging we have to do just to stay connected. With a billion people here we’ll be practically boiling the oceans!

Actually I have a somewhat noob question which has probably been asked before. Will energy usage drop when mining for new bitcoin ends or stay roughly the same for transactions etc.

Hard to say but probably roughly the same. You have to imagine the fiat value of bitcoin at that point (if it is even measured in fiat) is going to be astronomical and any fees will still be worth it.
