Interesting...I have wondered how WWII history is taught and viewed now in Japan.

(Hakkadaikon-san told me it was taught in schools but he didn't remember much from school & told me he got to know more after reading separately).

Btw, during that time, many people in my city evacuated to rural areas fearing Japanese air bombing 😅

Hakkadaikon-san also told me same thing - not to judge what is taught based on his memory of school alone 😅 But that some of the harm done by Japanese army in Korea is not taught extensively.

It's very easy to get carried away in nationalistic pride and not objectively see things. It's tough to talk about

It's happening in India too - selective history studies in textbook. Which is why it's always better to get multiple perspectives from outside the country also.

Since Ichinaka-san seems to be a scholar, I am not surprised that you read more in the library 👍👍
