How do you keep the caterpillars off?

I don't. 😁 Covering with insect netting in summer and a frost cover in winter helps. Surprisingly this one only had a few slugs nestled in at its base.

I hope to be more and more diligent with insect covers as the years progress. I am happy to have something this year since last year's fall garden was a bust.

Yes, our cabbages are riddled with caterpillars. We don't get a lot of frost here but we are currently fighting off a plague of rabbits. Might be worth installing some anti-pesto netting.
