As long as you respect property rights. What's interesting about government buildings, is that they fall victim to the tragedy of the commons. That triggered my autism.

That would depend on why you are protesting. Also, even of you have a really dumb reason to protest, you should be allowed to do so, as long as you do it peacefully.
On relationship is based on coercion the other is voluntary. Seems to be an important distinction.

Humans greatly expanded human freedom by separating church and state. Now few see any need to protest those institutions that have previously lost so much power.
