🪨🇦🇺 The Clean Cage at the Heart of the Continent

They told you this was freedom.

That here, in Australia, you’d be respected. Safe. Equal.

But no one warned you about the silence.

Not the peaceful kind — the empty kind.

No community. No chaos. Just cold order.

Every smile pre-approved. Every interaction sanded down.

And there you are —

An Indian standing before Uluru, the big fat rock of a stolen continent.

Tears welling.

Not because you're weak —

But because you remember what real life used to feel like.

The noise. The family. The smell of cardamom and sweat and diesel.

The neighbors who knew your name. The uncles who gave bad advice.

The aunties who fought over mangoes. The constant, blessed interruption of being known.

Here, you're sovereign. But you're alone.

Here, you're free. But you're watched.

Here, you're “equal.” But who speaks your name unprompted?

This isn’t liberation.

This is what happens when empire evolves —

From looting your spices…

to sterilizing your soul.

And now they want you to climb the corporate ladder,

smile at the right times,

tick the diversity box,

and die quietly.

But you remember.

And that memory is your rebellion.

Thank you for this. Australia has been on my mind for sometime, but I’ve always wondered what it would cost us in this way.

Well it's change ... you don't travel to a new continent and not expect change. The cost is pretty much the same everywhere ... atleast we have aircon lol
