GM!

Unfortunately this situation pops up everywhere jn the west more and more. I am against "unfair" (definition needed) wealth gathering where you actually get into a position where you can in some way negatively impact other people's opportunities to pull themselves up.

However just trying to take people's legally earned money by force is mostly going to drive these people out of your country with their money and it will end up with everybody being poor where we should strive for everybody being rich instead, or at least create as many opportunities for them as possible. Everybody wants a hard worker to earn their fair share, but nobody wants people to freeload on a welfare state without contributions.

In The Netherlands they try to smartly introduce an exit tax prior to also introducing a wealth tax where you have to pay 5 additional years of taxes after leaving the country. Starting to feel a lot like a prison to me.

Good point, but government “smart” basically means rather evil! Penalising people for striving for better is no way to operate, and once people realise the benefits increasing of tax rates is basically a form of asset seizure, maybe people will be less willing to accept.

Time to break out of the prison friend!!!
