Tried out this rope only block and tackle hoist on the boat for the outboard- someone remarked why not use the vang- Duh.

I like the idea of this though. Result- Add a few carabiners to the loop to reduce friction and hey presto, a very lightweight bit of kit you can neglect and abuse on the road, #camping, #sailing, #climbing doomsday prepping and dealing with outboard motors if you don't have a vang handy. Costs peanuts... Bonus
