Smart Meters contain a lithium battery known to be a significant fire hazard. These Smart Meters have been responsible for setting houses on fire many times. Historically, PG&E was successfully sued for $13.5 Billion dollars for what is known as the "Camp Fire" back in 2018 in the Butte County in northern Calif--back then the deadliest fire in California history. It caused 85 fatalities, destroyed 18,000 structures, and displaced 50,000 people. The damage was estimated to have been $16.65 Billion dollars. While the blame was laid simply upon 'bad wiring', it's possible Smart Meters contributed to the fires.
