Have you tried shooting on other types of film?

I'm trying different things, but the contrast needs to be a bit more for me. So I'm adjusting the tones a bit to my liking.
I see. Again not too familiar, but am I right if I say that it’s harder to adjust tones etc when shooting on film?
Also, do you develop the film yourself?
Adjustments can be made when the film is printed. I can't do that because I am scanning film. I ask a camera shop to develop the film. I want to be able to do everything from developing to printing myself.
