No it uses free blossom servers. Up to 100mb.

weird, I've just tried multiple times and it failed every time. Used amethyst and it worked without issue... I'll have to try again.,🤷🏻‍♂️

Strange, works on my end. Have you tried a different browser? It works for me with Firefox and Keychat.
