A lot of Christians are closet gays due to the over repression and stigmatization of sex and sexuality. So, instead of being able to heterosexually expend their sexual energies, they bottle up and sometimes release around other men in the same situation. Laser seems to be a Christian.

There's a wide variety of takes on this from a Christian perspective. My dad was raised staunchly Christian, and he was driven away from it. The principals of true Christianity don't allow for such direct bigotry, but many become hypocritocal.
