I lived there for 6 years. As an expat you don’t get the same quality of life as a Kuwaiti but it was damn high comparatively. The citizens however - totally different story. Shared wealth. Government considered as “family”, basic income for all. Land and housing upon marriage. Job provided. Totally different setup. But I guess based on a small population, oil wealth and a strong currency. Will be interesting to see how they cope when/if the oil dries up.
Oh and minimal income tax apart from a voluntary 2.5%+ Zakat (Islamic tax) for the less fortunate.

I live in Tower Hamlets, I know what a Zakat is!!
Imagine the UK gov saying we expect you to give 2.5% of your yearly income/wealth (more if you wish) and then leaving it at that. 😅
