I don't know, but want to read your answer.
My opinion on this are not well finalise yet.
To me, the neurons and synapses connecting are just one part of it. There is more to just chemical reaction.
There is a non-biological element to it, perhaps somewhat metaphysical, or even spiritual part of it.
Instinct, Intuition, imagination, there is more than just “data processing” from our sensory.
Or maybe I am “over-thinking” this 😅
