It's difficult to imagine a more limp-dicked response to someone than telling them to shut up. Especially online, where you have no power to make someone shut up.
If you want someone to shut up, the best tactic is to intellectually eviscerate their arguments.
How about not doing any of that and living your life focusing on what you yourself say.
