I run like 12 to 15 Miles per week. I actually should probably reduce cardio. I think it makes you hold on to a little fat. You don't see long distance runners really ripped. Won't have energy left for resistance training. It's more of a meditation thing for me. Time where I can zone out in my mind.

It is true that cardio kills gains. It is even a saying among gymbros. But it is the most effective way to loose weight. Yes, you can start training for muscules before you are skinny but even though you are muscular you'll still look a bit fat.
Training for muscules will also make you loose weight. It just won't be as fast as cardio.
