For me it was growing up in poverty. It involved a lot of choices. Mainly to remove myself from my friend group I’ve had lifelong.

Seeing some in the prior few years I received various responses. But considering most of my childhood friends are either dead, drug-addicts or in prison … I now confirmed my own choices.

Not everyone has that type of internalized strength. Desire. Or want. No shame to them. Not sure where it came from but I always *knew* I’d make it another way.

Recovering from that took longer 🫂🥰

Yeah, I cut ties, moved to a different state, reverted (to Christianity) and I haven't looked back.

Sometimes you just have to move on.

I just think it isn't possible to move on until you look around at the people you are choosing to spend your time with and realize that you're the average of whatever they are.

That's a hard thing to accept.
