Totally and absolutely false. The original state is that we al are equal so no poverty can exist. But, to be precise, we should first define when we will consider the "original state". When we're born? When the humanity began? Later we can discuss about causes of poverty.

"We are all equal" will not help you meet your basic needs.

Do you think that "poverty is the original state" will help?

It's the acceptance of this state of affairs that should motivate someone to do the work to escape poverty.

Poverty is the absence of work (of any kind).

I thought it was just the state of living beneath basic needs.

Most poor people work even more than some rich ones. So no, poverty can't not just be reduced to a amount of work issue.

The only way towards prosperity is to put in the work. Everything else is just excuses.
