Those who have taken trips to El Salvador in the past year or two, what's the best way to get around?
Thinking of taking a trip in the spring.

It depends on when you land and where you’ll be going. I suggest taking a shuttle to your hotel from the airport and then Ubering to a car rental place and renting a car. The rentals in the airport are really expensive and can be a bit of a hassle.
Great, thanks.
Thinking of a few days in San Salvador and a few in El Zone for this trip. I've been, but it was a number of years ago, and alone, not with wife and child...
That’ll be a good time!!
You’ll definitely want a car from the city to El Zonte. It’s a really pretty ride and a little dangerous so it’ll be kinda fun. Once you’re in Zonte you can park and walk around but it’s so small not having a car might make you stir crazy. With a car you have the option to head over to Nawi Beachhouse or Tunco or even out to Sonsonate to visit the Volcano. So much to explore!!
You mean rent a car? Gotcha. My son wants to see the volcano
Yep! There is a rental company in El Tunco called Wanakos. They rent cars but also set up tours. Sometimes they have deals like if you rent for a week you get a day free but the best part is the tours they help you with a tour guide and setting up the excursions. There are other rental companies and Bitdriver takes sats so you may want to shop around for the best deal but you can’t go wrong with a rental.
