Tinder and all of the other dating/hookup apps are terrible for guys. Just walking for a day around your city asking out random women will likely give you better results, than a year spent on dating apps.
There are better girls than her, but it's way harder to reach them than IRL.

I'd guess that varies a lot with location. Most certainly it's going to be very different in different countries/cultures, but I'd take a leap and say, it's likely very different according to the size of the village/town/city you are in. Specifically, the fewer the people, the more I assume are guys likely to just approach you and ask you out. I see it way more often happening in settlements of up to cca 30K people.
