It "can" be but personally, I don't recognize the other use cases.

I see Bitcoin as a Layer 1 P2P Electronic Cash system, if others want to make "Bitcoin" into something else so be it but as far as I'm concerned I will personally recognize the Bitcoin version which best accomplishes the goal, function, and task of Self-Sovereign P2P electronic cash.

If others want to use it as a speculative asset, or "digital gold", or as data storage, or some other utility that's their right to do so.
