Not sure I'm familiar with the 460? I carried an SP 101 for about 10 years before I started carrying autos.

I haven’t migrated to autos because I think they’re more prone to problems in an intense circumstance, and I don’t have confidence that most auto rounds can stop a person, though as they go the .45 ACP is the best of the bunch, and easily converted to the .460 Rowland which can still shoot .45 ACP. I don’t have one, but I think they’re a move in the right direction for autos. https://460rowland.com/

I think autos make sense for police and military, but for a concealed defensive carry I’ll take a J-frame sized revolver loaded with five 800 ftlb hollow points every time. I leave the barrel chamber empty because I value my femoral arteries and the people around me….😁

I was a wheel gun guy for 20 years before I bought my first auto for carry (glock 26) I'm 100% comfortable carrying the glock with the safe action technology. Though I mostly carry at 4 o'clock for most of the time.

I just don't think 5 rounds will cut it in some of these active shooter situations. One on one, maybe, but I think carrying 10+ makes sense. I was carrying a 6 Rd .380 but decided it's not enough.

I agree that the scenarios are changing dramatically with the times. I’ve travelled extensively to some of the most crime ridden areas of the US and previously never felt the need to be armed, largely because the crime that involved shooting had a specific context between people or groups of people like gangs. Sure you could be unlucky and catch a stray, but that would happen either way. The mass shooter increase has changed my opinion, so now I carry everywhere, but still, against a dude with a rifle and maybe body armor it’s seems likely one or two shots is all the opportunity you’ll have to stop them before thirty rounds or more of rifle power is going to be focused on your location. If those shots are not powerful enough to at least knock the wind out of a person and break some ribs through body armor I think it’s a dire situation. Sometimes I think the Ruger Alaskan 2.5” snub in .454 Casull is the right edc, but it’s big and heavy and I wish it had more capacity. Trade offs. 😒
