I think the benefits of USDT is you can self custody it. So say you wanted a small “cash position” for dips, spending, whatever you can swap to Bitcoin without a central exchange. Or say you trade 1-3% of your stack you could use for that as well.

You can't self-custody something which is inherently centralized in production. Your USDT only has any value because Tether maintains a peg. That peg can break at any time.

Could but hasn’t. I’m not pro tether I don’t really care about it I’m just pointing out some potential benefits. I’ve only used tether on liquid and that was just to experiment with liquid and sideswap.
