I love you brother, and I agree that it's much less regulated and controllable - but PWAs are just not the same as native apps. Nostr is super hungry and PWAs kill my battery.
This honestly makes me question my stance on side loading for the first time.
I agree that they are not perfect solutions, but these big tech companies have left us with no other options. Android, in comparison, is still a slightly better choice.
I absolutely hate a lot of things about JavaScript, but things like this have made me look a lot at stacks like React Native, and frameworks like Blazor that support compilation to WASM.
It does seem more important than ever to use a tech stack that allows you to give the middle finger to middlemen at any time and just move.
There may be a day when #Damus is available on the App Store, Damus.io, and on Android. One breaks? Just use the next on the list.
God, the burden on devs.... ❤️ 😢
Especially for this kind of tech, we cannot rely on centralized corporations, as they will do everything in their power to stop us.
