here in russia iranian rugs are very famous and nostalgic symbols of soviet times. still can be found on the floors and walls of grandma’s houses. and rugs don’t only serve utilitarian purposes (as keeping room warm), but also aesthetic ones bc they are really pretty and make the room feel so cozy!

still remember being a child and falling asleep in my grandma’s house examining those patterns, touching its scratchy woollen surface following those unknown yet so calming symbols
