Some of the more sought after culinary and medicinal mushrooms have never been domesticated. When you can't replicate the necessary economy you won't get that economy's fruits.

The Puritans were terrified of a natural economy. They were terrified of nature because they couldn't control it. Like Pearl in the forest (The Scarlet Letter) we are witches because we feed on a different money; one they can't control.
