No i have not only been on a canal boat and that was a lights boattour

Pic related

Oh, this doesn't seem v relaxing at all lol

Maybe canal boat living exists outside of the UK? I know a fair number of people who do it. But property on London is mad expensive to buy or rent.

We have them here as well lighttour was in amsterdam utrecht also big on those tourboats.

Those boatrides usally are packed with tourist perhaps thats why i only went once

Yeah I assumed cos they're often called Dutch barges or something. But do people live in them? Is that common. I assume not. There's a lot of rent controls in Holland and probably not the same housing market/prices problem especially of eg London

Here we call it woonboat litteral translation being livingboat.

Housing wise our country has massive isseus because of the climate rules we not building enough houses.

Immegration and the refugees from the war not helping either housing is a massive isseu

Woonboat! So nice.

I heard it's p decent if you are renter over there tho maybe? Maybe that's changed. It's been a long time since my friends lived in Holland. P much the same problem maybe as everywhere in Europe by the sounds of it. Although I'd be surprised if it's as bad as London for the absolute shitholes you have to live in at insane prices. No bueno

Pretty sure its much worse in london

Ever thought about moving outside the city ?

It's something I think about a lot but can't realistically due to obligations and whatnots, such is life ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Missed you said living yeah thats big over here as well especially in amsterdam that i whould love

I thought I would and maybe I am still toying with the idea, cos it may be the only realistic way I'll own a home lol. But seeing some problems my friends have and the hassle, has sort of put me off a bit.

Like emptying your toilet tank, refilling water, drunk people on the tow path, not v secure, constantly need tinkering with, super cold in winter and super hot in summer. But v cheap and pleasant living too maybe.

I cant say i ever looked into what isseus come with living on a woonboat but as you describe it, it sounds like a full time job in a place i should actually relax , i cant even begin to imagine how its over there now with housing
