Playing around with my Pinephone. It's literally a Raspberry Pi with a phone form factor. Even boots from the microSD by default.

Manjaro with KDE Plasma seems most stable and fully functional atm. Tried Aftermarket OS which is also a good project but my audio broke.

Ofc you can effectively dual boot this by having one OS on internal storage and one on microSD. Or even swap out microSD cards to run whatever you want.

Doing a Nest later today for general bantz and nerd speak ofc.

How donyou feel with that vs degoogled graphine os?

Totally different animals. De-googled Android (including GrapheneOS) is easily a daily driver if you can avoid Google services by finding alternatives.

The Pinephone is totally a beta product and so far only one of the distros I've tried works properly.

They state this clearly when you buy it so it's not a criticism, just saying it's not an alternative to Android, it's not ready for daily use and definitely not ready for normies.

Meanwhile I put GrapheneOS on my gf's phone and she can use it fine and she's not a tech nerd at all.

Pinephone is for trying out cool new shit that won't work 100%.

Sweeeet gunna check out pine phone

If you're into fucking with Linux it's well worth it. Only $200 for the one I got too.

Glad to see you get it. I love to tinker with such things myself as a bit of fun. Helps alleviate the old itch I had to root devices etc.

However when I woke up to taking my mobile life's security/privacy seriously and discovered GrapheneOS that obviously went by the wayside.

So long as people, like you do, get that the way the phones and OS are set up they serve very different purposes.

Glad you're enjoying your experience, I am following with interest. 😃👍

Btw man hope to see you on the Nest later today!
