what client are you using?
Damus at the moment
I'm not using Damus, but I'd presume there's a way to edit your "nostr profile" or "about you" kind of area. there should be an area for a "NIP-05" or maybe "nostr address" if it is not called that.
I haven't used the nostr check service, but I'd presume you gave them your pubkey as well as a display name of your choice.
in the nip-05 field in your profile, you'll add the name you gave them, "Rubainski@nostrcheck.me", or whichever "@" address they gave you/you signed up for.
Oh yeah. That worked!
looks like it on my end as well! cheers friend 😊🤙🫂
So what do you see when you click that link?
it will just bring me to the nostrcheck.me, website.
as nostrplebs says, "it's a human readable identifier for your public key. it makes identifying your account easier."
it's more a or less a vanity, but does perhaps give some users the feeling that npubs are to an extent presumed to not be bots.
I recommend reading the official NIP-05 documentation as well.
