No, I'm not legally allowed to strangle people.

Different.

Joking aside, I don't think that's actually the case.

Better boundaries that meet your needs more would reduce frustration?

I believe so too. I also think frustrations come when those boundaries are persistently disrespected (of course further boundaries will then need setting... Which can also be frustrating 🫠)

OK, I am starting to see what you're getting at, but that's only on cases where your are allowed to set your boundaries clearly and openly.

I cant really imagine a case where I am not tho. Maybe a work thing but usually expectations for those arrangements are set upon hire and if I dont like them then I can leave. Everything else is just humans finding something workable for both and ime there is something workable.

Don't join the military.

Don't work for people who can't make up their minds.

Don't care more than your coworkers who are just trying to get by.

🤷‍♂️

Those sound like good personal boundaries 🫂

They are the source of most of my frustrations. So

.. No. Lol

But can you imagine a workable boundary with the people you work with? Even one only inside of you that they never even know about? Bc lets get real, they aint changing. So you might need to?

1. I need a raise. The BS to pay ratio is no longer favorable.

2. Unless they ask magically start doing their jobs better, no. There is no worktable boundary. I've already had a few run ins with the owners of the company. I'm not in thin ice. (If I walk, they are so effing screwed its not even funny since I'll take a few guys with me, without it being intentional. I am VERY good at what I do.) But, that are only going to tolerate me being confrontational for so long. I hate being confrontational, too, but, if I'm pushed to that point... It's ugly and I'm going to walk away standing.

3. I could try to stop caring. But that's really, really hurtful to me and it's not worth walking down that dark a path again.

So I whinge about it on the internet. 🤷‍♂️😏🙄🫣

Everyone is replacable, but its never free to replace a person.

I am very costly to replace.

More money always make shit more tolerable. Start there 😂

Also, I am serious. Had a pain in the ass client. Upped my rate 33% more per hr. Could totally tolerate them after. It was magic.

Yeah. I've already been asking. Found out that reviews are coming up. It's not a sim as I'd like, but I can be patient.

What if instead of not caring, you looked at it as defending your peace? As long as what they are doing doesnt directly impact you or your work. Idk just spitballin. I hate to think you wasting precious energy on these nincompoops 😩🫂 like here is my bubble of concern and you asshats arent worthy

I just care about my work. I love what I do. I'm easily the most versatile fabricator I know, even though I know done really excellent dudes that are better at a particular thing or another. (I'm not implying I know it all. I am humble enough to learn every day. But I'm really friggin good at what I do.)

I really just want to work at a place that let's be do what I want and gives me what I need to accomplish whatever boneheaded thing a customer wants. I haven't gotten to that point anywhere yet so I might be chasing a pipe dream. 🤷‍♂️
