We have all been there. Vitor replied to me of the cause is most likely the keyboard you are using.

Thank you! That is helpful. As I am actually quite frustrated with this keyboard. I am using a 5 day old phone with grapheneos installed and the keyboard is driving me nuts. It does its own things, it brings words glued together when I am deleting to correct something and generally super cumbersome. Would love suggestions for solutions.

I use "unexpected keyboard" on my degoogled pixel with Amethyst. Solved lots of issues.

Is grapheneos what you call degoogled?

Yes, or calyxos

I don't use any google services

I installed grapheneos but have been installing some google apps. Like maps and my gmail and drive. What are some roundabouts around this?

I have made great efforts not to use google apps

Tell me a little more. What are some apps I can replace and take babybsteps? I use google drive through my work but that association might be coming to an end soon so can transition.

Well, for starters linux has all the same word, sheets, "office" programs for free on desktop without all the spyware, bloat etc.

You can use proton for email and doc sharing if that is needed.

There are some FOSS apps that offer basic maps but I find my way around just fine without an app telling me what to do.

Start to ask if you really need it or are just using it as a crutch.

Ah now I see the link response you shared addresses grapheos. Will check it out.
