You're making an assumption on my implementation of the feature, I wasn't saying there needs to be some censorship bureau or nostr wiki editors that can contribute, I was thinking more of a open to the market function

If I see your post and I think its nonsense, i could zap a community note on it, like a comment and if my note is nonsense, I lose that money, if my note is valuable I could get it back.

I was rather looking at what would already happen in the comments and allow that comment to be filtered up to the top and featured more prominently

Again this feature could be circle jerked like any other feature, but thats why we have different clients, and people will want different features, in the end you still need to use your own decision making based on the info infront of you, just because something is added in a box is not a threat to your brain power

Yes, this is why features like community notes are attractive. But when shit hits the fan these are the features the tyrants abuse the most. The prominence that such a feature gives to those privileged enough to get is too good to not be abused. What starts as an open to the market function becames mandated like the "covid saftey information" on every Joe Rogan episode talking about horse medicine.

The fact that there is a correction mechanism doesn't solve the problem because what matters is having what gets seen by the most people (and most people won't come back a day later to see the retractions if the feature got abused). A person looking to control a narrative will happily pay to drive their point on someone elses wall.
