It seems like fedimint and cashu flip the wealth preservation paradigm.

In fiat, people would store most their wealth with a custodial service and self custody only a small amount, ie: in their wallet.

In bitcoin, people self custody the bulk of their wealth then would use layer 3 to custodial use as needed
