Full self driving’s potential is underrated, IMO. It potentially becomes full robot mode where it can come to pick you or someone else up, deliver supplies by itself, etc. And of course there’s the robo-taxi service for which you could rent it out.
Major downside: without it being open source it can’t be considered actually yours. Fully expect it to be remotely controllable by Tesla and law enforcement agencies against my will. Hopefully we’ll see an open source self-hosted equivalent at some point.
Really hoping for a open source version one day. Feels like not enough people care about this tech to fight for it yet though. And you're very right about it being underrated. Can't wait until you can fly to a city and have your car meet you in a day or two, or you take yourself to the airport and your car goes home and parks in the garage (or goes and robotaxis for some money)
And if they figure out FSD in addition while towing, maybe I can wake up in a new city from my towed tiny house haha

It will probably take an event that scares people into caring about it. A Tesla vehicle automatically pulling over someone who has a warrant, refusing to go to a location that is somehow restricted (a natural disaster area for example), refusing to drive at all during a mandatory curfew in a time of social unrest. Etc. Sometimes a fire needs to be lit. 🔥
