exactly. but i think folks don't even rrealize there are haiku awards / journals
or haiku and not haiku.
if you google it you will get a 575 answer.
you have to look for it. I subscribe to modern haiku.
I think I get one quarterly. this last one, the first half were bad imo, the second half were good. sometimes the entire journal is awesome. it depends on what was submitted, how many they need, the editor and how much they need to bend to nothaiku to fill the journal.
but knowing what is and is not haiku is the beginning then you can at least toss or rework something into a haiku. or toss.
my writing cahiers are mostly scratched out because it is not easy. sometimes it just comes and sometimes not.
all artists have this.
