Tho it is not known exactly when the demisexual flag was created, it is assumed after 2010 when the asexual flag was introduced, as it uses the same colors as that flag and Demi folks fall on the asexuality spectrum.

Black=asexuality

White=sexuality

Purple=community

Gray=demisexuals place on the ace spectrum

According to LGBTQnation, demisexuality is “feeling no sexual attraction towards other people unless a strong emotional bond has been established.” This differs from living a conservative lifestyle around sex in that that is a personal choice to resist one’s sexual desires due cultural reasons, while the demisexual person does not feel that sexual desire until a strong emotional bond has been established due to the orientation of their innate sex drive.
