Well, not exactly *nothing* per se. They do develop both the hardware and the software that interoperates with Damus. Apple has done thousands of really awful things and still retained a cult like following of customers. They're an electronics manufacturer with a specialty in propaganda.
They are not needed and provide no added value to zapping or #nostr in general. They are only there to take fun created by others hard work away from those who made the mistake of buying their product.
Corporations, especially ivy league twats like Apple middle management, deserve whatever spanking consumers can issue. I fucking loathe corporations and the sway they have in government.
